Inside the base unit, push down the brace to secure and square the base. Locate the speaker connection inside the base for the base speaker. Set it outside the backside of the base and place the top part of the lecternette on the base. Connect the base unit speaker connection to the add-on speaker connection point.Next, open the top part of the lecternette and fold it down. Flip open the microphone and power cord storage compartment. Remove the power cord from the storage compartment and connect it to the unit and power source. Take the microphone out of the storage compartment and close the compartment.
Swing the microphone arm into an upright position, clip the microphone into the holder, and plug the microphone into the “lectern microphone” jack. Adjust the microphone position to provide a speaking distance of six to eight inches with the microphone pointed at your chin.
Set the “lectern mic” level, “lectern volume,” and “add-on volume” to mid-range. Set the “bass tone” and “treble tone” to mid-range, and all other levels to minimum. Switch the “power” to on. Adjust the “lectern mic” level and “lectern volume” level to obtain the minimum desired sound without ringing or feedback. Maximum volume will vary with acoustical conditions.
For wireless microphone use only:
If using the wireless microphone, remove it from the grey pouch and slide the “on-off” button to the on position. Clip the microphone to a lapel or necktie and place the transmitter assembly in a pocket or clip it to a belt. Adjust the “aux wireless input” level to mid-range. You may need to readjust the “lectern mic” level, “lectern volume” level, and “aux wireless input” level.
Note that the wireless microphone is prone to feedback if it comes too close to the speakers.
Tip: If you turn down the “lectern volume” switch, you may eliminate some feedback noise.
